The following diagram, taken from the same Eurocare studies, compares global cancer survival in relation to the health resources that the societies offer to their inhabitants.
There is a clearly significant correlation between the money spent and the results obtained.

The correlation is more significant for women, who are less susceptible to tobacco-related cancers for which we have very few efficient therapies. On the contrary, an active screening policy is easy to institute and would give much better results.
