According the old classification, N1, N2 and N3 node metastases were distinguished.
Nowadays, the node status can only be NX (cannot be assessed), N0 : no regional lymph nodes, N1: regional lymph nodes.
Old N3 (lumbo-aortic nodes) are considered as distant metastases.
Regional node metastases concern paracervical, parametrial, obturator, internal iliac (hypogastric), external iliac, common iliac, sacral and presacral nodes.
